Prenatal Parenting; Right from the start
A four part workshop for pregnant couples or individuals who are embarking on the transition of a lifetime. In four 2 hour sessions you will learn valuable scientific and practical information about pregnancy and early parenting. In addition, this group is a place to honestly discuss the joys and challenges of preparing for parenthood, as parents and as partners, with others on the same emotional and physical journey. You wouldn’t prepare for a new career without any training, so doesn’t it make sense to do a little training now for the biggest and longest job of your lifetime?
The class will cover the following:
* The latest research coming out of prenatal and perinatal psychology
* How to prepare body, mind and spirit for a healthy pregnancy
* Ways to bond with your baby prenatally
* What you can do now to prepare yourselves and your baby for birth
* The basics of brain development, bonding and attachment
* How to read your baby’s cues and communications
* Things you can do prenatally to help your baby sleep better and cry less after birth
* How to fortify your partnership as you go from couple to parents
* Finding personal and family balance in the midst of early parenthood
