Last night I was informed that I won a very cool, cargo bike called a Madsen cycle. As you can see it is the total family bike and can haul a whole lot of kids – with bench seat and seat belts included! I am so excited and have been informed that I should receive it ready to ride in just a few short weeks. I must admit, when they started that 6 week bike giveaway promo, I really and truly felt like I was going to have one. And I’d never one anything before! But it is so perfectly, perfectly a bicycle made for me!
I really do think that it just may be the official Slow Family Vehicle. And that slow family sticker is going to look mighty fine on the back! And I do think too that the Madsen folks just may be joining Slow Family Living too. You don’t make a bike like this and not understand something about family connection.
Oh, and by the way, there are seatbelts in the back of that thing!!!

Congrats on winning! Our family won a Madsen bike back at the beginning of the first bike give-away, and we just love it. I know you will fall head-over-heels for it! Have fun!

Are you aware of any forums for Madsen families to connect regarding Madsen issues? Logistical issues like sleeping toddlers toppling out, getting in and out, etc as well as working at having it become the family vehicle? I’d love to see how other families work some of these issues out.

I don’t and haven’t heard anything like that. We love our bike – and have had a few sleeping toddlers on occasion. No troubles, just good times!
