We so enjoyed our babysitting class this February. We were blown away by the love and enthusiasm for the information. All 25 girls were so attentive and so responsive and we just loved having them here.

After this amazing babysitting class last week, a few moms mentioned that they’d like to continue on with a series of classes for girls. We love the idea and have been spurred on to create just a series to which we would like to invite your girls – ages 8-12 .

We have decided to offer the series in a monthly format – meeting here at Carrie’s amazing abode one Friday a month for 4 sessions, taking us through the beginning of June.

These are the topics we will cover…

Gratitudes and Intentions – In this class we’ll discuss the beauties, and the benefits, of recognizing and stating gratitudes for what is really working in our lives. We’ll also help the girls get clear on stating intentions on just how they want to approach things and how they want to feel as they go about their days. We’ll give them tools for making these practices a part of their daily world. We have both had such powerful experiences with this exercise and we can only imagine how great it would have been to have started before we got to our 30s!

Fill your Cup – In this class we’ll cover the benefits of really taking care of ourselves in a way that leaves us feeling healthy, strong, happy and connected. Too often, whether we are 12 or 43, the amount of offerings and invitations can stretch us to the point of exhaustion and overwhelm – and that’s when we get cranky with those with whom we are closest. We’ll discuss with the girls how to check in with their bodies and their emotions and their eating habits in order to assure avoiding the overwhelm. When they leave this class, our hope is that they’ll understand that when we are feeling full – emotionally, physically, mentally – we can connect with those we love and take the world by storm.

What do I need? – In this class we’ll help the girls understand the value of knowing, understanding and getting clear on what they need and putting it out there to the world. Too often, especially as women, we are made to believe that our own needs are either insignificant or that others around us can and should know them without us speaking them. We’ll discuss the importance of asking ourselves the question, “what do I need?” From there we’ll talk about taking care of those needs with a plan or putting it out there to others who can assist them. We’ll show them that when we expect mind reading it can too often lead to disappointment and misinterpretation and a whole heap of bad communication. We’ll help them understand too that while what they need may not come right away, the more clear they are with knowing, asking and planning, the more likely it will be that what they truly need will come their way.  Finally, we’ll guide them in understanding that all relationships with friends, parents, teachers and siblings, can be stronger and more connected when communication is clear.

Money, money, money – Money is a fact of life. In this class we’ll discuss methods for wisely earning, spending, saving, and sharing the money that comes our way. We’ll discuss methods of tracking  income, planning future money goals, and understanding the merits of holding money in the bank, while sharing a little of what comes our way with others. We’ll show them too that earning money does not have to be an arduous task, rather that it can come from doing exactly what we truly love to do.

We will hold the sessions from noon-2:30 one Friday a month for March, April, May and June.
